Your writing & privacy

Know what stays local.
Know what syncs.

A notebook should be clear about where your writing lives. Here is how Kagazji handles notes, account sync, private fields and optional integrations.

Updated 4 October 2026 · Operated by Big Helpers.

Start with a local notebook.

Before sign-in, your notes are saved in this browser’s local storage and database. Native development apps save device notes locally too. Clearing browser storage, removing an app or losing a device can remove unsynced writing. Keep an export of work you need to retain.

Browser device-only notebooks are specific to their website origin. The earlier Kagaz address and my.kagazji.in do not automatically move unsynced guest notes between each other.

Sign-in and account sync.

When you sign in and sync, ordinary writing, note metadata and supported attachments are stored on the Big Helpers server for your account. HTTPS protects the connection. Ordinary notes are not fully end-to-end encrypted.

Sign-in stores the account details needed to identify you, such as name and email. Email/password, Google, Apple and passkey sign-in use their existing account flows. Google and Apple notebooks stay separate; the new name does not merge them.

Password and card fields.

Password secret values and card number/secret values are encrypted on the client using the vault before they sync. Labels, usernames, holder and expiry metadata are not all encrypted. An unlocked vault is needed to edit private values.

Whole-note copy, sharing and public exports exclude password and card blocks. This protection applies to those fields; it is not a claim that the entire notebook is encrypted.

Sharing and exports.

A share link is a snapshot of the public writing at the time it was created. Anyone with that link can read the shared snapshot. Share only the writing you intend others to see. Later changes to the original note do not automatically update that snapshot.

Exports save files onto your device or a destination you choose. Keep downloaded copies safe. Different formats preserve different parts of a note; the public-writing export is not a complete backup of every attachment or private field.

Email capture.

Email imports are an explicit account opt-in. The private receiving address accepts verified mail only from the email used for that Kagazji account. Messages and supported small attachments are stored for that account and join normal sync. Imported email writing is not fully end-to-end encrypted.

Remote images, tracking and active content are removed. The receiving address gives no reading or login access. Pause stops new imports; replacing the address stops the old one. Existing imported notes remain unless you delete them.

Writing assistance and Copio.

Grammarly is an independently installed extension, keyboard or app. Kagazji does not connect your Grammarly account or submit notes to a Grammarly API. The installed Grammarly client has its own permissions and data processing; manage them there.

Eligible native Apple development apps can use Apple’s system Writing Tools and local Foundation Models for selected public writing. Suggestions are reviewed before adding them. Password/card blocks and standalone code are excluded from Kagazji’s on-device model requests.

Copio support is being tested and is not active in production. A connection requires a separate signed-in Copio account and your explicit consent. It does not merge the accounts or permit private password/card fields to be copied automatically.

Account and data controls.

You can export public writing, sign out, lock your vault and use the app’s account deletion control with confirmation. Deleting an account removes its current application records, including its receiving address and email imports. It does not remove files you have already exported or copies you have shared with other people.

These marketing pages.

The pages at kagazji.in do not load third-party analytics, advertising scripts or tracking pixels. The web server may keep ordinary operational access logs. The notebook and sign-in pages have their own app and provider requests.
